September Playlist

So here it is again, the end of another month. I genuinely think that this year has gone too fast – I also realized that time was so damn slow when we were kids but now we blink and poof! Another year has gone by. As I’ve done last month, I will leave you all with my September playlist. This month I’ve been listening to a lot of indie music, I guess I associate the indie genre with autumn.

Without further ado, here is my September playlist!

Green Day – Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

This month I’ve been all over the place. At the beginning of the month I was feeling numb and like nothing was going well for me. As the second year of university was approaching, I kind of pulled myself out of that and I did a 180 degrees turn. I was finding it hard not to be doing something, anything to make me feel like I was preparing for level 6. This song is a song I’ve been listening to for the past two weeks or so because it’s not a soft song nor is it a high energy song. It’s the kind of song you can listen to while doing something and needing a break.

The Hunna – Bonfire

I kind of decided that this is my autumn song. Last year it was Freedom Fry – Shaky Ground but this year, the moment I heard this song I couldn’t stop listening to it. It’s such a high energy song but at the same time, it has that autumn vibe that I really love. It’s also super catchy so that’s a big bonus.

The Native Sibling – Carry You

This song was on my autumn playlist last year. I used to listen to this song religiously when I was walking the dog and as I was looking through my Spotify playlists I decided to give it a listen and now I can’t stop listening to it. It’s such a soft, lovely song. It’s also the perfect song to play in the morning as you go through your morning routine.

Tokio Hotel – Phantom Rider

Tokio Hotel was such a huge part of my early teenage years. I love all their songs (except the new ones, not my taste) and this one is no exception. It brings me all the way back to 2010 when I was starting year 7 and blasting this song until the early hours of the morning, waking up two hours later to go to school and listening to it on the bus. I guess the more I grow up the more I miss being a teenager so I’ve been listening to their discography a lot lately.

Hollow Coves – The Woods (Acoustic)

This is that song you can listen to on a train journey or even while reading a book with a cup of coffee in one hand and the book in the other. It’s honestly the perfect autumn song because of the instruments and the singer’s mellow, lovely voice. If you try any one of these songs, I recommend you try this one because it’s guaranteed that it will put you in a good mood.

2NE1 – Come Back Home

This song is a bit different from the other ones but it has the same vibe. The drums are constant and their voices just give me an autumn vibe, not entirely sure why. It gives me dystopian vibes and usually when I think of dystopian novels and books, I associate them with cold weather. I loved this song the moment it came out and the sentiment still stands.

BigBang – Loser

BigBang is that group that only has awesome songs and even though I don’t stan them (I used to) the moment I heard this song I just loved it. It’s such a mellow, calm song but it’s so full of feeling, it’s amazing. I also love how catchy it is and easy to hum along to so to me, Loser by BigBang is the perfect autumn song. Haru Haru is a close second.

BTS – Anpanman

This song is not related to autumn at all. I just freaking love it. It’s such a fun song that I couldn’t help but be obsessed with it. I literally listen to this every single morning on my way to uni. I even went to a friend’s house and blasted this, it’s just that freaking amazing(ly catchy).

So here it is, my September playlist. I realize that a lot of the songs I’ve had on repeat this month are somehow related to autumn (can you blame me? It’s my favourite season ever) This is probably going to be the case for the next couple of months, but I’ll try to find more songs so that it’s not the same songs over and over again. When I make these playlists, even my top 7 playlists, I do it for two reasons: I love sharing what I’m listening to and gushing over amazing music but not a lot of people are interested and the second reason is that I want you guys to use these playlists. Anyway, thanks a lot for reading and make sure to check out my last blog post (another playlist) which is my top 7 Red Velvet songs.

          With love,

          Sonny xx
